Meet a Summer 2010 ADAMAH Fellow: Jaclyn

Jaclyn, age 22, a recent graduate of New College in Florida, where she majored in Religion and Gender Studies, is one of 14 fellows here at ADAMAH. She came to ADAMAH to explore Jewish practice and learning, as well as farming.

Before coming to ADAMAH, she wrote a thesis on the recent phenomenon of feminist Pesach seders and dabbled in DIY projects (she had a garden, made yogurt and cheese, composted and even fermented!). Jaclyn is a great example of the diversity, experience, and knowledge each ADAMAH fellow brings.

Jaclyn enjoys cooking and loves making vegan challah! She is training to become a certified birth doula. She speaks Spanish and loves languages. A few highlights of her ADAMAH experience are swimming in the lake, picking wild berries, watching fireflies and stars light up the sky, and of course, working in the sadeh. She also loves the sense of community among the ADAMAH fellows and how much everyone cares for each other.

Jew Facts:

  • Favorite Holiday: Sukkot – She loves spending all her time in the sukkah.
  • Food: A tie between challah and matzo ball soup.
